When I pull up to the airport, I’m not taking you with me. Only truth, wisdom and love are allowed to carry on. I’m checking the best pieces of my heart and never looking back. As I pass through security, I am certain they won’t find any traces of you. When I sit in my seat and look out the window, I’ll have peace. I will be filled with Gods gracious love, protecting me as I lift off. As I fly, I will soar so high that the skies beauty will enamor me. You will become a distant memory, a learned lesson and the test to my testimony. When I land, a brand new day exists. Pulling up to the gate, I can already taste freedom. I have a stride in my walk and a flow in my veins like I’ve never known. I’m so glad I chose to take this flight, but even more proud that I traveled above the clouds, on my own, baggage free. I may be alone now, but hunny I am far from lonely. Destination freedom.
